A Few words from our President:

HO HO HO!

So much excitement! Dave Bennett Band played at our December 9^th dance. What a blast!

Look at this guy’s schedule and appearances throughout the year and tell me we are not lucky to have him perform for us in this faraway place called Freeland!

This dance you do not want to miss, aside from Bennett’s great musical talents, we are offering a terrific price on tickets: Students $5, Members USAD $10, Affiliates $13, Non- Members $15. I repeat – not a dance to miss.

Help - We could certainly use your help in the food/refreshment department. If you have a favorite food/snack/pop item, please, bring it to share.

Low-cost dance lessons - Spread the word!

We will be starting low-cost dance lessons so set aside these Sunday dates:

Jan 8, 15, 22, 29 - The lesson will be EC Swing, time 2:00 pm to 2:45 for advanced and 3:00 pm to 3:45 for beginners. Angela Markle instructing.

Feb 5, 12, 19, 26 - The Lesson will be Rumba, time 2:00 pm to 2:45 advanced and 3:00 pm to 3:45 for beginners. Terri Sweet-Herrick instructing.

Location is the Kramer Dance Studio in Saginaw, 825 N Center Rd, Saginaw, MI 48638.

Cost is $5/per person per class.

There will also be a dance offered after the lessons.

Thank You - For those of you who attended our November “Thankful Theme Dance” and donated items for our local charities. Please take time to read the results of your efforts in the following page.

Music - We are paying attention to your comments regarding music quality and song selection. We are working on improving these issues – hang in there with us. Thank you for your input.

STARTING IN 2011, our Chapter Dances will be held on 2nd Friday of each month.
There are many conflicting events with our current schedule of dances, such as Apple Mountain with CEYX, the Big Band dance by WMPX, and others. We don't want you to choose between us and them when it comes to Friday night fun - go ahead and choose both. To accomodate you, we are changing our chapter dance schedule to 2nd Friday of each month. The location will remain at the Freeland Sports Zone, with few exceptions outlined in the Newsletter.

WE WELCOME YOU to become more active in your USA Dance chapter, and volunteer your time for the chapter Newsletter, or for the Welcome Table at our monthly dances, or to design dance flyers, or bring your creative ideas to the Board members.

Notice about music from the USA Dance Central Office
Per a note from the USA Dance Central Office, all chapter sponsored events must play music that is covered under the new BMI agreement. We have been asked to verify that all music played at any event we sponsor is covered under the BMI agreement. Our chapter's music committee will be busy checking our music library to make sure we conform to this new requirement and in doing so hope to improve our selections and tempos for your future enjoyment.
