I have a margarita in one hand and a Long Island ice tea i the other - not really, just wishful thinking. I'm just delirious from the heat and am working diligently to get this news letter out to you so you can get ready to take action.
It is appraching that time of year when our chapter will be asking for candidates/volunteers for board positions. A number of positions will become vacant due to othe obligations of our current board members. Do NOT assume that these positions will get filled without your participation. There is also a need for people to fill special commettees if you feel a board position is not for you. Please, be thinking about participating in 2011.
We are also thinking about changing the date of USA Dance from 3rd Friday of the Month to the 2nd Friday (please, read futher for details).
Please, spread the word to those you know who might be interested in the Chapter's sound equipment. Reasonable offers will be considered. (See details inside the Newsletter and in Chapter news)
Ok, my job is done here. I am heading outside to have a swinging good time in the hammock.

2nd Friday vs. 3rd Friday
There are many conflicting events with our 3rd Friday dances, such as Apple Mountain with CEYX, the Big Band dance by WMPX, and others. This subject came up at one of our board meetings, and it was concluded that the board needs input from YOU. What do you, members of the USA Dance Chapter 2043, think about the idea of changing our monthly dance to the 2nd Friday of each month? Would you available to attend? The proposed change will potentially allow us all to check out other dance events in the area that tend to happen at the same time with our monthly dance as things stand today. So, contact us and voice your opinions!

Notice about music from the USA Dance Central Office
Per a note from the USA Dance Central Office, all chapter sponsored events must play music that is covered under the new BMI agreement. We have been asked to verify that all music played at any event we sponsor is covered under the BMI agreement. Our chapter's music committee will be busy checking our music library to make sure we conform to this new requirement and in doing so hope to improve our selections and tempos for your future enjoyment.
2010 Chapter Board Elections It is that time of the year again when we must begin thinking about who will be on the chapter board for the upcoming year. You are encouraged to get more details from the newsletter, but here is the summary:
- Per the National Office, chapter board elections will be held every two years, starting in 2010.
- Nomination time comes up in September - bring your ideas to the September dance or submit them here.
- Consider serving on the chapter board, or in various committees.
- As always, chapter members are welcome at the board meetings, normally held Tuesday after the dance at Grace A. Dow library. Check with any board member prior to the meeting about any changes to this schedule.
SPOOKTACULAR USA DANCE OCTOBER 15
Eat, dance, and be scary! USA Dance is having a costume party October 15. There will be prizes for the 3 best costumes. And there may be more sweet tricks up your chapter board's sleves!
